World Health Day 2020
Today is World Health Day and this year’s theme is: ‘International Year of the Nurse and the Midwife’, to highlight the vital role of health workers, around the globe.
As the world responds to the COVID-19 crisis, health workers are at the front line of the outbreak response: exposed to the risk of infection, working longer and longer hours, missing their families: for all of us.
We are reminded, more than ever before, of their bravery, their sacrifice, and the critical part they play in keeping the world healthy.
Health workers, this World Health Day is dedicated to YOU. We appreciate you. We applaud you. And we thank you.

Listening to the rhythm of our brand…
Sonic branding is not, by any means, new. You even have your own: the soundtrack of your life, music from your teenage or college years that evokes an emotional response – whether pleasurable or painful – even decades later.
Combining aural and visual sensations is a powerful way to reinforce learning and create memories that are easily recalled, deep from inside your subconscious – transcending shapes, colors and other visual cues. And that’s why big brands use it, and the best, use it very well. In in our latest Perspectives article, we look at the composition process of Abdul Latif Jameel’s first unique brand sound-bed, and how it speaks to both our heritage and our future.
With five senses, why rely just on sight? There are so many other ways to engage – many people often prefer to listen to one thing and do something else.

Introducing #TogetherTuesday at Abdul Latif Jameel
At Abdul Latif Jameel, we’ve spent 75 years opening new doors – now, we’re closing them…keeping our people at home, keeping them safe.
But, although we’re further apart, we’re more connected than ever.
We’re seeing our colleagues in different ways, learning more about their lives, meeting their families and having our calls interrupted by inquisitive pets.
Our conversations are going beyond the latest project, program or press release: we’re recommending what films to watch, which books to read? We’re asking what’s for dinner? We’re asking: ‘Are you Ok?’
We are cementing our relationships, and building friendships.

Embracing a new normal - #Together
It’s our last #TogetherTuesday at Abdul Latif Jameel!
Not because we are no longer together - the opposite is true.
The worldwide pandemic has put us all to the test.
We’ve had to go it alone.
We've had to carve out office space at home.
We've become masters of video-conferencing.
We've learned to solve our own IT problems.
We've become teachers to our children, and colleagues to our spouses.
But, amidst all this uncertainty and change: we have stayed together. We have stayed together; connected.
We are proud of our Abdul Latif Jameel family; for its resilience, tenacity, and comradeship.
Our people have come together and supported one another. We have strengthened existing relationships, and built new ones.
Now, it is time to move forward, to build on our collective strength and embrace whatever this “new normal” may bring.
And we know we can do it - together.
Thank you, to all our people at Abdul Latif Jameel.
