Omar Al-Madhi is Senior Managing Director and Board Member of Abdul Latif Jameel Investments, part of Abdul Latif Jameel, a collective of independent international, family-owned and diversified businesses, founded in 1945 by the late Abdul Latif Jameel.

Omar leads Abdul Latif Jameel Investments – a dedicated and well-resourced venture for Abdul Latif Jameel’s diversification efforts, building and investing in businesses that support our growth and entry into new sectors and geographies.

Prior to taking up his current role, Mr. Al-Madhi was Chief Executive Officer of a major European-based global automotive manufacturing group in Saudi Arabia.  He has also held a number of senior roles in the Saudi Arabian Government, including the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA) and Saudi Aramco, and was an advisor to the Minister of Labor.  Mr. Al-Madhi has also previously spent time at McKinsey & Company.

Omar Al-Madhi is Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee of Saudi Fisheries.

Mr. Al-Madhi holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and gained an MBA from the MIT Sloan School.  He speaks English, Arabic, and Greek. He was named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum, joining the class of 2017. In naming Omar, the Forum characterized him as “a recognized corporate executive who has emerged a champion of job creation, employment and infrastructure in Saudi Arabia”. 

Abdul Latif Jameel’s core business areas include transportation, engineering and manufacturing, financial services, land and real estate, energy and environmental services, consumer products, advertising and media, and health care. Based in the MENAT region, Abdul Latif Jameel has a presence in more than 30 countries over six continents, including Europe, Africa, Asia and the Pacific, North and South America.  It employs approximately 11,000 people of over 40 nationalities.
