Congratulations to Art Jameel on the one-year anniversary of the Jameel Arts Centre!

Situated at the tip of Dubai’s Culture Village, with views overlooking the Dubai Creek, the Jameel Arts Centre has already become a central part of the Middle East’s arts scene, creating a new cultural hub for the region.

Over the last year, the Centre has worked with 166 inspiring artists from around the world through exhibitions, commissions, talks, workshops and youth programmes, and welcomed thousands of visitors through its doors.

One of the first contemporary arts institutions in Dubai, the Centre is a nucleus for educational initiatives and cultural events, fostering the creative community in the region – and beyond.

Commenting on the occasion, Fady Jameel, President, International, Community Jameel said:

“Congratulations to the team at Art Jameel for marking the first year anniversary of the Jameel Arts Centre. Over the last year, the Centre has played a pivotal part in the enrichment of the thriving cultural scene in the region, and beyond. I am looking forward to an even more exciting future!”

Jameel Arts Centre is an initiative of Art Jameel, an independent organization that fosters contemporary art practice, cultural heritage protection, and creative entrepreneurship across the Middle East, North Africa and beyond. Art Jameel is positioned alongside Community Jameel, and complements its sister organization’s work in promoting positive social change, job creation and poverty alleviation across the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey.

The Centre opened to the public in November 2018, developed in dialogue with, and with the support of, Dubai Holding and Dubai Properties, the master-developers of the Jaddaf area, as well as other government ministries and entities of the United Arab Emirates.
