Bab Rizq Jameel, one of the Abdul Latif Jameel Community Initiatives, the social responsibility arm of the Abdul Latif Jameel, won the “Arab Social Media Influencers 2015” award in the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) category, in recognition of its societal contributions and assistance in providing more than 590 thousand job opportunities to young men and women in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Morocco and Turkey during the period 2003 to 2014.

Mohammed Abdul Latif Jameel, President of Abdul Latif Jameel Community Initiatives, accepted the prize from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. This was during the first day of the summit, held on 17 and 18 March in the Dubai World Trade Centre Arena.

Commenting on the award, Mohammed Abdul Latif Jameel said: “I would like to extend my thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, for presenting this award to Bab Rizq Jameel. We are very grateful to His Highness for this honour that pleases us greatly. Winning this prestigious award at the Arab Social Media Influencers Summit, which saw the participation of more than 1500 influencers, experts and specialists in this field, motivates us to continue with our efforts to help provide employment to young men and women from the Arab world and Turkey. This emanates from our desire to help them achieve their dreams and aspirations in the field of employment opportunities, as well as to take advantage of their talents and abilities to develop their communities.”

Mohammed Abdul Latif Jameel also stressed that the Bab Rizq Jameel initiative sought to make a real difference in the lives of youth, through allowing them to be active contributors in their own countries. This is not only limited to helping provide employment opportunities for them through Bab Rizq Jameel’s partnerships with government institutions and the private sector, but also through working to support small entrepreneurs with good loans and to implement programmes for girls and women to work remotely or from home, enabling them to achieve a balance between their work and family lives. He pointed out that the welfare of the community is a goal Abdul Latif Jameel Initiatives tries to achieve in all its community programmes.

The Bab Rizq Jameel initiative established a branch in Dubai in 2014 under the name Bab Rizq Jameel Recruitment International, in order to search for administrative and executive talent and specialists, to select those with talent and skills, and to help create employment opportunities for them. This is in addition to providing employment services for jobseekers and their customers, including companies from across the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey, relying on the knowledge and experience gained by Bab Rizq Jameel since its establishment in 2003.

Thanks to its success in helping to provide more than 590 thousand jobs for young men and women since its inception — including 410 thousand jobs in Saudi Arabia — Bab Rizq Jameel has won many prestigious local, regional and international awards, most notably: the Mohammed bin Rashid Award for Young Business Leaders for the Best Social Responsibility Initiative for 2013 in the Arab world, from the Mohammed bin Rashid Establishment for SME Development in Dubai; the award for Best Initiative to Support Entrepreneurship in the Arab World in 2012 from the Mohammed bin Rashid Establishment for SME Development; the award for social responsibility within the “Active Academy Awards” at the International Finance Summit in Turkey in 2011; and the award for Excellence in Social Service in Saudi Arabia in 2009.
